Incoming 2018

Ed, Last Saturday week, a bunch of young artists got together to showcase a diverse range of fresh talent in the spectacle known as Incoming 2018 at The Pelican Playhouse in South Grafton. Incoming 2018 featured the Clarence Valley’s very own: Maeve Grant (singer/songwriter), Michael “Mikki” Neilson (rapper/songwriter), Kade Valja (artist), Meg Lucas (writer/performer), Jake Andrew (artist), Julius Koch (Psytrance producer), Rachel Mackey (filmmaker), Hannah Harlen (singer/songwriter), and Jay Thrizzle (DJ/Label Manager). These nine minds came together to create an absolute cracker of a show, luring in a full house plus some; 92 out of the 96 seats were sold in pre-sales, and then some more at the door with people having to sit on the floor down the front of the theatre. Incoming 2018 was a real community success, and couldn’t have been achieved without the support and sponsorship from so many across “The Valley”. The Incoming 2018 artists wish to thank: The Pelican Playhouse committee for pointing them in the right direction; all of the creatives who jumped on board to lend an eye or an ear or a hand; all of the GoFundMe sponsors; Robert Bentley from Bentleg Market; Danny Loyden and Sammy Lovejoy from Cast Net Productions; Kerrie and crew from Dimattia & Co.; Rachel Koning and Shelley Kirke from Heart and Soul Wholefood Café; Jeff and Robyn Smith from I Scream; the staff from Office Choice; Tara Stout from Paper Daisy Florist; Martin Lucas from Riverside Bargain Centre; Mick McIver from Valley Signs & Printing; Ken Tucker and Team from FM 103.1 Loving Life FM; and Bill North and Leslie Apps from The Daily Examiner. Make sure to keep an ear out for Incoming 2019! Meg Lucas, Lanitza
