Cats and kittens for adoption this week:

We get all cats vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. We have adopted out well over 1200 cats over the last 12 years and only a very very small percentage having developed any illness as a result of the change in environment but now we are being extremely careful. Carson is a member of the C-team who were rescued in Maclean by a foster carer over a number of days at the end of October 2016, mum named Cara by the foster carer’s son was found in a garage as the owner was packing to move out. She had a small dog and she worried whether he might have a go at Cara and her family of very young kittens. The litter has unusual markings almost as they have some Turkish Van in them; they are also slender like an oriental. They are affectionate and love being stroked but not so keen about being carried around. They are desexed, immunised, regularly treated for parasites and chipped. They are now ready for their new homes. 991003000002507

Timmy was a very reluctant surrender. His owner wanted so much to keep him but her older cat would not have a bar of it. When the older cat passed away she came and adopted him back, but she could not keep him for long as she became ill and was in hospital for some time. We kept him for her but she told us just the other day that she could not have him back as she was moving into Clarence Village and could not guarantee that she would be well enough to look after him anymore. It was very sad to hear as she loved him so very much. He is a very lovely friendly affectionate young cat would make a wonderful inside family pet or companion. He always comes to say hello when you walk in but he is not a pushy cat instead waits his turn. He has been micro-chipped, immunised and desexed, and is waiting for his new home 991001000624569

Josephine is the last of the J-Team. They were rescued with their mother as her owner was moving and was not able to take her and her kittens with her in early March 2016, not long before Easter!. Josephine is a very beautiful, loving, semi long hair cat who is loves being stroke and occasionally picked up. She is happy to snuggle up to you and enjoys being brushed but not keen on being carried around by kids so would be better in an adult or semi adult household.  She has had a dental recently as well she is desexed, chipped and immunised ready for her new home. 943094320483056

Dogs for adoption for this week

Aladdin is a beautiful loving young Staffy cross ridgeback or something similar. He is great with school aged  children. He does not have a mean bone in his body but sometimes jumps up when over excited. He gets on well with other dogs. He is a smart young dog who would love to go to training for the mental exercise. He sits when asked and comes when called. Loves the water, cuddles, being with people, a part of the team and is house trained so would love to be a family dog who goes picnics in the park or runs along a beach being a part of the family outings. When a friend was not feeling well he sat by her side quietly keeping her company a sensitive young man, knowing that she needed something to make her feel good. I am Nevena and I came to HPH with three of my brothers. A farmer had surrendered us due to the bush fires and he worried whether or not we would be safe or not. Our Mum is a Koolie/Kelpie and Dad a Border Collie. We are all are very smart, mischievous, playful, loving affectionate pups needing training and a loving home with lots of mental and physical activities to stop us getting bored. Naturally we are now desexed, microchipped and have had our puppy vaccinations. 900079000630521

The A-Team arrived New year’s day, extremely dehydrated and starving hurry, the young couple did not know what to do as the mother’s milk had dried up. Dr Lisa from Sandy Paws in Iluka  and Dr Ray from Clarence Valley Vet Clinic helped us save them, one had to have a transfusion and the others fluids. They also had hook worm on board which had to be treated urgently. We were able to save them all and young Aramis is a prime example of the team. All are very healthy, with lovely natures, typical playful pups now ready for their new homes. They are like all our animals immunised, desexed, micro-chipped, and regularly treated for all common canine parasites. 900079000630613
