Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club run to Guyra

Saturday January 23 saw 25 vintage cars from our Club leave Jabour Park for our annual run to the Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Although the festival had been cancelled, Guyra still put on a bit of a show at the Showground. Getting up the Gibraltar range can be a challenge for older vehicles, but everyone made it to the Standing Stones at Glen Innes for morning tea. The weather was perfect. Our convoy headed to Guyra Showground to join the Armidale and Guyra Car Clubs of a car show in the main arena. There was a vast array of cars, trucks and motorbikes on display. A scaled down version of the festival surrounded the arena with market stalls and food vendors. It was a fabulous start to the year. This years’ Motorfest organisation is starting Wednesday January 27. Anyone with ideas for this massive club event is invited to attend the club rooms at Jabour Park from 6pm. Light refreshments will be served. Next run on the club calendar is Valentine’s Day lunch at Sanctus Brewery at Townsend Sunday February 14. For those wishing to drive down together, we will leave Jabour Park at 10.30am. Members from down river may wish to meet us there. Booking is essential to Kim Dahl by lunchtime Friday February 12.
