Grafton U3A first meeting of the year

The Grafton U3A Committee extend to you the compliments of the season as we enter into another year of entertaining and outstanding programmes in 2020.

Our first Jabberfest is just around the corner and will commence at the usual venue, the New Life Church in Arthur Street on Monday February 10.

President Alysan Pender will welcome everyone at 10am, outlining what is in store for the day and some hints of what we can expect for future Jabberfests, with our first session beginning with representatives from various interest groups informing us of their group activities, this will be followed up (if time allows) with another heads and tails brainteaser brought to us by Kevin Dixon, with the ultimate winner taking away another box of chocolates.

For the second session, following the morning tea break, Alysan will introduce the guest speaker for the day, Henry Sheehan, who will speak on the topic of organic farming emphasising ‘the importance of grazing management for soil health and animal health’.

Henry started his career as a jackaroo working with sheep and cattle on fairly large holdings in northwest  NSW and into Queensland  and started twelve years ago with Figtrees Organic Farms, when he was first introduced to holistic management principles and managing animals and the landscape in a chemical free environment. This promises to be another interesting and enlightening presentation.

Regards and best wishes to all for this year 2020.
