Grafton Relay For Life: next team info night on Feb 22!

Is this the year you decide to join the Relay For Life in Grafton? If you aren’t sure what Relay is all about or want to find out more, come along to the next team information night on Thursday February 22 from 6pm – 7pm at the Grafton District Services Club. Kate McBride, Northern Rivers Community Relations Coordinator for Cancer Council NSW, welcomes everyone to come along to find out more about Relay For Life and see what a truly uplifting community event it really is. “Teams are able to pick up their shirts, ask questions about Relay, meet the committee and other ‘Relayers’ and find out what is in store for the main event,” said Kate. Registration is only $20 per person! Register online at relayforlife.org.au/grafton or at the team information night on February 22. This year’s 18 hour Relay For Life will be held in the SunSmart timeslot, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday March 24 until 9am Sunday March 25 at Jabour Park in South Grafton. Ms McBride says the dedicated organising committee have been busy planning a great event for the community. Relay For Life is an overnight experience with entertainment, fun activities and moving ceremonies – it’s a night you won’t forget! “Most of the entertainment has been locked in and it will be a great showcase of local talent. The ‘Miss and Mr Relay’ competition is also back again this year and we are calling on all the blokes to get their dresses and purses, and all women to get their beards and plaid shirt ready for a fun night with great prizes,” she added. All participants get a Relay For Life shirt, overnight camping and a free breakfast on Sunday at the Relay included in the registration fee. The funds raised help Cancer Council NSW support people affected by cancer in the Clarence Valley through vital research, prevention and information and support services so no one faces a cancer diagnosis alone.
