As in past years, the Grafton Floral Art Society has been quite active with president Lyn, assisted by vice president, Doreen.
The most successful function was the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea, the venue being the Joan Muir Community Centre, held during May; many thanks to the volunteers for their assistance.
At the Grafton Agricultural Show floral art exhibits were outstanding and displayed a mass of colourful and talented exhibits.
During July race week a floral display was held at Grafton Shopping World and once again, was a blaze of colourful arrangements.
The Society participated in the “Festival of Flowers” held during Jacaranda Week at Christ Church Cathedral and many thanks to volunteers who assisted with the displays.
The first meeting of the Society for 2019 will be held at 10am on February 14.
Meetings are held at the Whitehouse meeting room on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
It is interesting to note that so many parts of a plant; the foliage, flowers, seed heads, fruit and stems are decorative, beautiful and can be used to good effect creating flower arranging.
