Grafton Branch CWA

Our December meeting was well attended and our Christmas luncheon at the Grafton District Services Club was enjoyed by all. Margaret Cameron was the winner of a beautiful chocolate wreath made and donated by Carol Smith. Our Branch is looking forward to a busy and interesting year in 2016 as we will be studying and learning about the way of life of the country and the people of Mongolia and Lyme disease for medical research. A special fund raiser courtesy of Black Pepper Fashion house Shoppingworld will be held at the Masonic Hall, Bacon Street on Tuesday, February 23 at 9.30am for morning tea and guest speaker. Money raised to go to ovarian cancer research, tickets are $6 at Black Pepper before February 16. There is a How to Cookery day at Coffs Harbour on February 17 and a Handicraft and Cookery day at Glenreagh on March 2, where we are put to the test with the judging of our entries. Handicraft mornings are held on 2nd and 4th Mondays at 9.30am of each month. Our Junior CWA member, 5 years old Armani Gillett started her schooling on Monday February 1 at Grafton Infants School and we all wish her many happy years of learning. Our next meeting will be held on Friday 12 at 9.30am at our Rooms corner of Duke and Pound Street, so ladies if you have an hour or two to spare come join our friendly group, you will be made most welcome.
