The Grafton Under 18 boys’ hockey team, who made the long trip to Wollongong for the State Championships on the weekend, have come home as winners of 3rd Division.
The win means a promotion to 2nd Division at next year’s Championships. Coach Matthew Lobsey sent through a quick report after the win. He commented that it was a very pleasing weekend with a group of young men who thoroughly enjoyed their hockey and their time together as a team. The team improved every game and had a very positive team spirit. He acknowledged the support of Renee Nilon for her thoughtful and caring involvement as manager of the team. With most players still eligible for under 18s in 2024, GHA can look forward to sending a strong team to compete in Division 2 next year.
