GoFundMe page for Clancy O’Neill

Clarence Valley residents have generously opened their hearts, and their wallets, in support of 23-year-old Clancy O’Neill, who was recently diagnosed with Leukaemia.

A talented surfer and prominent member of the local sporting community, Mr O’Neill is preparing to commence four rounds of chemotherapy at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

While his partner Leily Adey revealed he is in “pretty high spirits” and is maintaining a positive attitude, local sporting club the Clarence Head Longboarders have established a GoFundMe page to assist him and his loved ones.

At the time of publication, close to $40000 had been raised since February 19.

“People are incredible,” Ms Adey said graciously.

“As a community, it shows how good everyone is in the Clarence Valley.”

While Mr O’Neill is expected to remain in hospital for up to six months, Ms Adey said the whole family are extremely thankful for the generous support they are receiving.
