Preparation for the upcoming two-day Retro-Motorfest is now well underway with the event scheduled for September 16-17, 2017. Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club is organising and promoting the event. Enhancing those preparations for the Retro Motorfest has been the recent announcement that Shannons Insurance is to sponsor the event, which has already attracted a healthy number of entries. As well as Shannons’ involvement, several other subsidiary sponsors are currently in negotiations, with Supercheap already confirming their association with the vintage motor club in promoting the event. Jabour Park Sporting Complex will be the venue for the display, which has undergone an upgrade and rejuvenation under taken by the club. The Motorfest, which has adopted a retro theme will cater for all types of motor vehicles and has the potential to become the biggest motoring expo ever held in the Clarence region, according to the club. Types of vehicles that will be taking part include classic-vintage, hotrods, street machines, motor bikes, tractors, alongside a vintage caravan display, boats, stationary engines. Entertainment on the day will include a display by the rock ‘n’ roll dance club, a DJ, several non-stop displays, and amusement for children. As well as the Retro Motorfest activities, there will also be several trade displays in conjunction with a scheduled swap meet. Entry forms for the various classes are available on the club’s website, www.gvmvc.com.au Or alternately contact event organiser Bill Cowper on 0404 815 999, for more information
