There were 56 players who took to the fairways for the first Monthly Medal of the year, sponsored by our Club Patrons Garry Williams and Warren Tozer, and it was great to see our Patrons along with Arthur Lysaught and Ian Speechly out on the course. Garry actually picked up the longest dive for C Grade on the day, you will have to come out more regularly Garry. The best score of the day went to B Grade and Medal winner Charles Doggett with a fine 33 ½ nett, closely followed by Wal Hambly 34 ½ nett and Nev Henwood 35 nett. After losing on a count back last week it must have been a sweet feeling for Charles to win on Sunday, but he was in charge of doing the results. The Waterboys are coming thick and fast now with another five recorded on Sunday. Ron Jenkin on the 1st and 7th, Noel Reeves on the 4th, Arthur Schubert on the 7th and Joe Fisher also on the 7th. I was also told through the week that defending Champion Terry Ord did indeed have a Waterboy in our first game of the year to go with his four from last week, welcome to the club for 2016 gentlemen. Next week is a Stableford event for the 1st round of the Grafton Motor Group Stableford trophy. Starters will be T Ord and J Blanch with W Hambly and J Corrigan to handle the results. Sunday February 14 will be a Stableford event for the 2nd round of the Grafton Motor Group Stableford trophy. Starters will be J Leonard and W Burns with R Finch and G Bush to handle the results.
