It has been a busy week on the greens. There were a number of Club Triples Championship games played on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday morning M Andrews, J Ryan and M Walsh were too strong for M Shorten, B Buckley and J Buckley, winning 32 to 11. They backed up in the afternoon against N Henwood, N Jolliffe and K Landrigan but couldn’t repeat the outcome, with K Landrigan’s team winning 27 to 16.

Saturday afternoon also saw R Marchant, G Taylor and B Williams play too well for D Clarke, A Gough and T Lickiss with a 32 to 18 victory whilst in the other Triples game, G Harrison, K Garner and T Dalton were too strong for the team of C Lawler, D Moran and H Gibson with a final score of 33 to 15. Saturday afternoon also saw a Minor Singles game completed where M Shorten ran away to a 31 to 15 victory over G Gumbleton.

On Sunday morning the semi-finals of the triples were played. In what was a great game of bowls where every shot had to be earned and every player put down some spectacular shots, N Henwood, N Jolliffe and K Landrigan came back from a 6 shot deficit to lead by 2 shots on the last end. Their opponents R Power, G Taylor and B Williams were holding 2 shots to force it into an extra end before K Landrigan put an absolute gem in with his last bowl, winning 21 to 18. In the other game G Harrison, K Garner and T Dalton grabbed the lead early against G Gumbleton, C Clark and R Grant and held on defiantly before winning 22 to 17. The final is shaping up to be a great game of bowls.

With some really good games coming up make sure you keep checking the board for future games. Also, a reminder that the RSL Get Together day is this Monday morning at Woolgoolga so make sure you get your names down to play in a great day of bowls, and that wraps up this week in bowls.
