Gbomb to make an impact

The Grafton Cycle Club is looking forward to hosting the GBomb 2023 this weekend.

A major regional event which tests the skill, precision, and riding ability of each participant, the GBomb is a Cross Country (XC) mountain bike endurance race held in the Bom Bom State Forest.

This year, the Grafton Cycle Club, which has hosted the event periodically since 2012, has taken advantage of the October long weekend to offer three days of off-road racing, including the Gravel-X Race on September 30, the GBomb 6hr/12hr on October 1, and a Trail Run over 10km, 20km, and 30km on October 2.

The Gravel-X Race is a new concept created by the club which will be held within the Bom Bom State Forest on the fire road network in a cross-country style.

Riders will compete over a 20km course featuring a mixture of smooth and rough gravel roads, along with 2km of easy MTB tracks.

The Gbomb XC Race is the grand final event for the 2023 NSW MTB Endurance Series, with all riders to be awarded points towards the state series.

The Grafton Cycle Club is once again looking forward to hosting a quality weekend of racing.

Drinks and food will also be available for purchase throughout the weekend.

To access the location, turn off the Big River Way and travel along Old Lilypool Road for 2.2km before turning left onto Boundary Street.

A carpark is located 50m from the entrance, and another one can be found a further 200m down Boundary Road where McPhillips Road and No.10 Fire Road meet.
