Grafton’s Relay For Life is just around the corner! The biannual event will be held on the 19th and 20th March 2016. To get all our teams ready the relay committee are holding the final team information night at 5:30pm, this Thursday 10th March 2016 at Grafton District Services Club. The information nights are in place to inform teams about what they can expect at next week’s event, ask questions and network with fellow Relay participants. Hannah Brooks, Community Relations Coordinator from Cancer Council NSW welcomes everyone to attend the final information session. “Teams will be able to pick up their fundraising kits, shirts, batons and get a rundown of relay and the new venue! If you are planning any fundraisers before relay this is also a great chance to share your ideas with the relay family,” she said. Moving to the revived Jabour Park in South Grafton will bring with it a whole new relay experience. The committee have been working hard to revamp the venue with many fantastic facilities for relay. Ms Brooks hopes the stunning rural setting will be a great inspiration for our participants to relay all night long. “This year we are hoping to bring you the best possible relay experience through the extra services we are able to provide” Hannah Brooks explains. The relay committee have organised extra parking, renovated amenities with a disabled toilet, even field surface and extra security. “If you would like to learn more about Relay or the new venue, come along to the information night and we can answer any questions,” Hannah Brooks said. Grafton Relay For Life will be a fun and moving overnight experience bringing together the community. It is a chance to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
