Fantastic fun run

Ed, What a great day the 3 B’s was again this year. The Clarence Valley turned on the best weather in the State as it usually does this time of the year. There was something for every member of the family with run and walks of 3,5 and 10 k’s and the new 33km bike course and start times of 9 and 10am. The Brooms Head topography, bush and beach beauty is equal to anywhere and Ken Crompton of Macleans Lions Club has put together an exciting, versatile and challenging bike course utilising all the attributes of the Brooms Head environment. Each rider in this new event returned to the finish line bursting with exuberance. Everyone is a winner at these events and I specially thank the various age group winners that led us through the five events. They were Kalani Ives, Milly Gyory, Cassie Epina, Jannelle Gyory, Bethany Hickey, Lesley Smith, Erin Ferguson, Sam Earle, Jay Adams, Dave Fleming, Max Leary, Matt Baker, Laurie Fitzpatrick and Bill North. The music, food and general camaraderie had the Brooms Head Bowling Club start/finish area buzzing. All of these highlights were brought together perfectly by the fantastic jubilant atmosphere of all the participants, supporters and volunteers coming together and throughout the events for the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service and I cant wait for next year. Bring on the Jacaranda Fun Run! Ray Sharrock, Maclean
