The past couple of weeks have been extremely busy for the diligent volunteers of the Grafton Show, who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, processing, organising, and arranging the numerous entries and exhibits across a broad range of sections, and transforming the T.J. Ford Pavilion, affectionately known as The Barn, into a spectacular sight.

As stunning photographs, colourful quilts, and creative paintings, posters, and drawings submitted by Clarence Valley schools adorn the walls, and glass cabinets showcase a wonderful assortment of beautiful handicrafts, homemade cakes and bickies, jewellery, woodwork, floral art, patchwork, and home brew, Chief Steward of the Pavilion Yvonne Robards said the hard work and loyal contributions of more than 15 volunteers, who work upwards of eight hours a day, help to make the Grafton Show a success each year.

With an increased number of entries across several sections including art and needlework this year, Ms Robards said volunteers have been especially busy in the weeks leading up to the 2023 Grafton Show on April 28 and 29.

“They all do such a wonderful job,” she said.

“They help to bring the pavilion to life each year.

“It’s absolutely marvellous to see such a high standard and high number of pavilion entries this year, and our volunteers work hard to put them all together to display them during the show, and they deserve to be recognised for their efforts.”
