Ed, A healthy democracy requires an independent media, free of political and financial influences to ensure content diversity. I saw an example of it in last week’s CV Independent (20/4/16) when the CVC’s General Manager Mr Greensill, exercised his democratic right to express his opinion in his letter to the editor, claiming the report “How Accountable Should the CVC Be?” (13/4/16) was incorrect. But I respectfully suggest, despite given the opportunity to exercise his democratic right to express his opinion, Mr Greensill denied the democratic rights of those 146 petitioners to express their opinions, by not publishing them in Council’s minutes.
