CRU3A – pub choir

Let’s All Sing has had a busy year practising new songs and performing at various venues  in Yamba, Maclean, Brushgrove, Ulmarra and Grafton.

The group is now coming to the end of performances for the year and launched our new programme titled ‘Country Roads’ at Whiddon Maclean on Thursday November 7. The residents there are always pleased to see us and we enjoy watching the “resident dancers” dancing to some of our songs.

There are two more performances at Caroona in Yamba and Mareeba in Maclean before we have our group Christmas lunch at Yamba Golf Club on November 28.

One of the highlights of our year was being asked to form a pub choir for the Yamba Shores Tavern on October 29. This is something that is becoming very popular in other pubs. There was one advertised in Bangalow recently and the idea certainly proved popular for the majority of our group. It was held in the Boardroom and Bar at the Tavern. The programme consisted of 14 well known sing along songs and a large enthusiastic audience joined us in singing. All money collected went to the group’s choice of charity which, on this occasion was the Rural Fire Service. A total of $379.65 was collected which the Tavern made up to $400 and matched it to a total of $800. There were many requests from the audience as well as from the Tavern staff to repeat “pub choir night”.  Most of the group stayed for a drink and dinner afterwards, all saying what a real feel good night it had been and looking forward to the next one in 2020.

Pitter Patter – A Gilbert and Sullivan celebration, will be held on Wednesday night November 13, with Christine Westwood presenting “Iolanthe”.  Put on your fairy wings and sign on at 6pm at Treelands Drive Community Centre.  Enjoy a glass of wine and cheese and fruit platter while chatting to other G and S fans, before the show commences at 6.30. Elsewhere in this paper, you will find information about our combined groups end of year party at the Yamba Shores Tavern. We would love to see as many members as possible at this occasion, mingling with people from other groups.
