Crowe Horwath Pro-Am

cvreview-imagesc   With a full field including 50 professionals conditions were almost perfect for the 1st Round of this year’s Crowe Horwath Pro-Am (played at the Yamba Golf Club) with $26,000 up for grabs. Professionals Adam Stephens and Brett Rankin were straight out of the blocks recording great rounds of seven under par but unfortunately Brett couldn’t back it up shooting even par on Sunday leaving the way for Ryan Haller who shot 66 on Saturday backed up with a 68 on Sunday. 2nd was Adam Stephens with 65 71, Brett Rankin was 3rd. In the amateur rounds Peter Hall was 1st on Saturday with 41pts from Peter Tonkin 40pts, 3rd was Michael Shirlow 40pts, John Gilbert was 4th with 40pts John Ralph 5th 39pts, Col Lindsay 6th 39pts, Neil Drummond 7th 39pts, Bruce Lulham 8th 39pts, Dave McGregor 9th 38pts and 10th went to Barry Bartley 38pts. NTPs: Richie Sorensen on the 3rd, Wayne Rice 9th, Paul Jones 10th, Mark McGregor 12th and Brad Johnson on the 17th. Longest drive went to Barry Austin from Hills International and the ladies Katrina Hando from Howlong. Round 2 of the Crowe Horwath Pro-Am saw rain threatening all day but luckily only drizzled on and off throughout the day, clearing up perfectly for the East Coast Restorations shoot out. Professional Brett Rankin knock it to 176cm giving him $1000 and in the amateur shoot out Neil Drummond was the closest giving him $500 thanks to Col Powell and his team. In the Stableford competition Matthew Gosper from Iluka took 1st with 40pts on a count back from Jason Lavender (Riverlakes) 2nd, 3rd went to Gus Young with 39pts on a count back from Paul Tarasenko 39, Greig Little 5th 38pts, Jesse Boffe 6th, Phil Kibble 7th 38pts, Jack Wright 8th, Doug Luckie 9th 38pts and 10th was Greg Starr with 37pts on a count back. NTPs: Mackenzie Wright on the 3rd 150cm, Jamie Pengilly on the 9th 400cm, Greig Little 18cm on the 10th, Matt Gosper on the 12th 59cm, Brett Holt on the 17th at 192cm.
