On a hot Thursday week, 10 players participated in 4 rounds of golf croquet. Round 1: Yvonne & John just scraped home 7 – 6 against Nea & Phyl; Joy & Bill also got home 7 – 6 against Frank & Pamela. Round 2: Frank teamed up with Joy 7 and played against Robyn & Yvonne 3; Pamela & John 7 ran out winners over Phyl & Nea 4. Round 3: Joy & Yvonne 7 defeated Phyl & Robyn 4. Round 4: Joy & Pam tied with Phyl & Yvonne 5 all not finishing the game because of the heat. Joy won all her 3 games John & Yvonne won 2 of their games. On Sunday 4 players turned up for association. A lot of players are away on vacations. Rod defeated Wayne 14 – 7 and Kay defeated Jim 12 – 6. The players all enjoyed playing on a full court. Monday a total of 12 plays came for a fun morning of golf, 11 members and visitor Shirley. Visitors are always welcome as are new members. Round 1: Jean & Louise 7 teamed up against Frank & Joy 6; Phyl & John 7 soundly beat Shirley & Robyn 1; Pat & Wayne 7 were too good against Yvonne & Nea 3. Round 2: Yvonne & Wayne 7 had a win over Pat & Phil 5; Joy & Robyn 7 had a decisive win over John & Louise 1; Frank & Shirley 7 defeated Jean & Nea 5. Round 3: Frank & Phyl 7 had a grand win over Yvonne & Shirley 1; Robyn 7 won in a close fought battle against Joy 6. Robyn had a magnificent hoop to hoop shot during the match. There wasn’t a player that won all or most of their games. They either won 1 or 2 games each a very evenly contested day. Wednesday association players played again on a full court. Peter D had a win over Kay 20 – 9. Peter played well and hit a lot of long roquet shots. Rod 8, Jim 5 and Sue 5 played 6 ball, a really enjoyable game to play always a lot of fun. On Tuesday 16 the newly formed Yamba Croquet Group saw 36 players arrive to play golf at their inaugural day. Some of the Coutts Crossing Croquet Club players went down to assist them and help make the day a huge success. We wish Yamba much success in their endeavours to establish croquet in their area.
