The Clarence Valley Camp Oven Festival kicks off at Nymboida Camping and Canoeing Centre in just two weeks’ time.
Creative Director Laena Stephenson said, “The weather forecast for the October long weekend looks perfect and I for one can’t wait to try the food that’s freshly cooked on site.”
“You’d be amazed by the range of food that can be prepared in cast iron camp ovens.”
“This annual event attracts skilled amateur cooks to the Clarence Valley from far afield. Camp oven cooking is hugely popular across Australia,” she said.
Event Manager Phil Nicholas said, “Several more acts have been added to the line-up since the event was postponed from the June long weekend.”
“We’ve invited Clarence Valley locals Morphonics to play, plus Brodie Button and Danika of The Button Collective. The ever-popular bush dance is back and there will be a fire show on Saturday evening.”
“I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t already booked in for the weekend to make a day trip on the Saturday, try the food, check out the bands and stay for the fire show.”
“Parents NSW vouchers can be used for live music and arts, so for anyone who enjoys the great Aussie outdoors, there’s no better opportunity to get involved,” he said.
The Clarence Valley Camp Oven Festival is proudly supported by Clarence Valley Council, the Australian Regional Arts Fund, St Vincent de Paul and Fire to Flourish, a program working at the intersection of disaster resilience and community development, in partnership with communities affected by the 2019/20 Australian bushfires.
