Community members choose books for their library
About 40 people accepted an invitation to visit the Maclean library last month to help select new books for the library service.
Regional librarian, Kathryn Breward, said a book seller was on hand to handle specific requests and 77 new titles were added to the library’s collection – all chosen by the community.
“We love engaging with the community in this way,” she said.
“Throughout the year people have the opportunity to have a say in what they can read at their library, but this event is a much more hands-on and enjoyable approach to selecting new books.”
Library members were able to reserve the books on the day so when the new stock arrives, they can be the first to take them home.
