After 25-years in the industry, Clarence Valley Window Tinting owner Bede Madden has gained a wealth of experience and a reputation for exceptional quality work by using high quality films when tinting everything from cars to boats, excavators, homes, businesses, and banks.

Mr Madden said he got his start in the industry prior to 1998 when he was window cleaning, then he trained with a friend who had a window tinting business, progressing from cleaning to tinting windows.

While building up Clarence Valley Window Tinting as a family owned and operated business with his two sons Shannon and Bradley, Mr Madden said he did a variety of different jobs to supplement his income involving the automotive industry including fabric and vinyl protection, rustproofing and paint protection.

At the same time Mr Madden juggled being the owner of Advantage Hospitality Supplies at Yamba for 20 years, which he sold in 2022.

“Unfortunately, that was taking a lot of time away from my window tinting, so I sold that business in June last year, to focus on window tinting,” he said.

Clarence Valley Window Tinting does work right across the Clarence Valley, Mr Madden said, and he has done jobs as far north as Tweed Heads and south to Forster when requested by his tint film suppliers 3M and Solargard.

Mr Madden is a member of the Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand and an accredited Window Energy Rating Scheme WERS member.

In his quarter of a century in the window tinting industry, Mr Madden said the industry had come a long way, with superior quality films that have lifetime warranties.

“There are a lot of cheap products on the market, which some installers use just to get the job, and it gives the window industry a bad name,” he said.

Clarence Valley Window Tinting only use top quality films made by 3M and Solargard, Mr Madden said, and all their work is guaranteed.

Mr Madden said Clarence Valley Window Tinting can tint any glass.

“We’ve tinted everything over the years, from any type of car to tractors, bulldozers, graders, and boats, to residential windows, commercial windows and safety and security film on jeweller shops and banks,” he said.

Before determining what film to use, Mr Madden said he always asks the client what they need from the tint.

“Window Tint can be used to stop fading of furniture and household items, to stop glare, reduce the impact of heat in cars, vehicles, machinery, boats, houses and commercial premises, for added security and to increase privacy,” he said.

One of my career highlights was tinting Paul and Linda Hogan’s house up at Possum Creek (near Byron Bay).

Starting with a couple of rooms, the job took two of us a whole week as they continued to add more rooms.

We established a good relationship with the Hogans, even travelling up to Possum Creek to tint one window on Linda’s Volvo.

Rumours circulating that he is retiring from the industry are completely false, said Mr Madden.

Clarence Valley Window Tinting is located at 3/7 Angourie Road Yamba.
