Clarence Valley residents look forward to a hopping good time at Easter

Emma Pritchard

With the impending arrival of the school holidays and the Easter long weekend, the Clarence Valley Independent recently conducted a street talk in Grafton, and asked people what they are most looking forward to during the holidays, and how they will celebrate Easter in 2023.

Elzra Krauter: I can’t wait to go to Brisbane in the holidays and see my nan and pop at Easter, and then see if I can find all of the Easter eggs they try and hide from me.

Naomi Saunders: During Easter we always try and get the family back together for a couple of days. We live all over NSW, and traditionally, we all come back to Yamba and celebrate Easter together, which is lovely. We’re still getting some family members organised, but its something we look forward to each year because Easter is a special time to spend with people you love.

Harlow Bartlett: I like sleeping in and not having to go to school during the holidays, and I really love Easter because I get to eat a lot of chocolate and spend time with my family.

Rena Thompson: Easter is a special time of the year where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and give thanks to him for the life we are able to live today. I always celebrate Easter by attending a church service and then inviting all of my friends and family over for prayers and bible readings.

Audrey Noakes: I love the school holidays and Easter because I don’t have to do any homework and I get to eat as much chocolate as I want.

Dianna Noakes: As a mum, the best thing about the school holidays is when they end. But they’re also a great time to catch up on all the things you don’t get time to do during the school term. We usually head to Sydney and visit our family down there, but we’ve decided to stay at home during the holidays this time. Easter is going to be very low-key for us this year. We’ll probably get some fish and chips and head to the beach to relax.

Archer Meade: The best thing about the holidays is I don’t have to go to school, and I can spend as much time as I want skateboarding and hanging out with my friends. I’ve already been given a lot of Easter eggs, but I really hope I get a lot more because I’m spending the Easter long weekend at my Gran’s house and she always spoils me.
