Clarence Valley Ramblers – Nana Glen Christmas camp

Nana Glen weekend was a huge success with 30 vehicles, 52 people and two visitors attending. The weather was hot, smoky and ash was over everything, but that didn’t stop everyone having a great time.

Friday afternoon saw Lorraine run a ‘100 club’ and raffle to raise funds for the drought appeal, $206 was raised so a great big thankyou to everyone who participated. Saturday morning Lorraine then again ran a Christmas trivia with some very interesting questions and of course some feedback from the players, which had everyone laughing. The winners after a tiebreaker were Lorraine Dalton and Sue Nunn.

During the year Yvonne made jams and pickles to raise money for the Westpac Helicopter, with sales of books she made $1200, terrific effort.

The judges walked around the campsite on Friday night and during the day on Saturday and chose Anna and Ray’s camper for all round decorations and the table decorations on Saturday night looked great, with the judges choosing Ted’s table. Thankyou everyone for making the vans and tables look great.

Nola and her helpers put on a terrific Christmas dinner with no-one going hungry, ham, chicken, salads, with special requests looked after. The desserts finished off the meal, and then when everyone thought that it was over out came Marlene’s Christmas pudding with custard.

The entertainment was Bob Howson who had most people singing and up dancing all night, his repertoire was widespread from slow to rock n’ roll to country and western for those who did the line dancing.

Sunday morning was the meeting and AGM with a change of president (now Marilyn) and secretary (now Judy). The meeting went very smoothly with nominations for the executive in by 9am Sunday morning and several other nominations for the committee as well, thankyou all for making the meeting go so smoothly. A list will go out to everyone with the minutes.

Brooms Head is our next outing, don’t forget to let me know if you are going and remember to book your site.

Merry Christmas everyone.
