Clarence and Richmond Valley small businesses among 2500 to already get $10,000 government virus grants

Clarence and Richmond Valley small businesses that have not already applied for the $10,000 NSW Government coronavirus grant should do so without delay, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis says.

“The Nationals in Government introduced the $10,000 grant for small business employers only last week and already 2500 have been approved for businesses right across the State,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“Applicants can get the money in their bank account in as little as five days.”

Eligible businesses must meet criteria including having between 1-19 employees, a turnover of more than $75,000, a payroll below the threshold of $900,000, and be heavily impacted by the COVID-19 shutdowns.

Businesses will be expected to demonstrate a 75 per cent decline in turnover as a result of COVID-19, relative to an equivalent period in 2019 of at least two weeks.

Applications for the grant must be received by 1 June 2020. For more information on eligibility or to submit an application please visit www.service.nsw.gov.au
