Chatsworth Island CWA
A busy month was had by the Chatsworth Island branch.
We hosted the group CWA meeting and a good representation from the branches attended. Some members were absent due to their commitment at the Sydney Royal Easter show tea rooms which is CWA’s biggest fund raiser.
The Cookery Handicraft and Ag and Environment day held at Glenreagh was a great success and three of our members handicraft items were selected to go to Sydney for state judging. Congratulations to Heather Hughes who won the Vera Williams trophy for her crocheted table piece Anita Gooley for her win in the over eighty section and Jan Out for her girls dress. Chatsworth Island came 3rd in the group point score of the handicraft.
Robyne our craft officer demonstrated and assisted us in making artificial corsages. These are given out for members birthdays. Next month we will be making felt Christmas bells. Please bring a sewing needle with a large eye and scissors. There will also be a demonstration on how to crochet a washer and if you want to learn how bring along a size 3 crochet hook.
For the cooks the bake off is blueberry muffins 3 or 4 to a plate.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday the 6th April at 9.30 for a 10am start at the Chatsworth Island Hall Chatsworth Island. Everyone is most welcome bring along a lunch to share and stay for the craft and natter afternoon.
