The annual Blues Brews and BBQs – Yamba Cup day at the Clarence River Jockey Club (CRJC) still went ahead on Sunday, despite threatening showers and concern within the community about Coronavirus.
CRJC CEO Michael Beattie said that he was extremely
happy with the crowd that they were able to attract to the Blues Brews and BBQs
Yamba Cup day.
“At the end of the day we had fairly ordinary weather
at the time of day when people were making their decision whether they were
going to come. There was certainly a lot of rain around the rest of the
Clarence Valley and threatening here at the racecourse around midday,” Mr
Beattie said.
“The crowd was down a little bit on previous years but
that had to be expected given the weather patterns and also the concerns in relation
to Coronavirus.
“So, all in all – pretty happy,” he said.
