A flag raising ceremony was held at Lawrence on Australia Day, with the community event being organised by the Over Fifties Club. MC for the ceremony was Neville Taber with Ken McFarlane raising the flag. Music and songs were by the ‘Tempomentals’. Speakers included Terry Bird, Robin Hoskings, Joan Kale and Maureen King. Vintage cars were also on display, at the event. The Lawrence Historical Society provided morning tea with damper and golden syrup, Anzac biscuits and lamingtons. The Society opened the Museum to the community free of charge from 10.30 – 12.00. The Australia Day celebrations continued at the Golf Club, with a BBQ lunch and entertainment. Image: Roz Jones
