Jacaranda Thursday is a time for business houses in and around Grafton to dress up, let their hair down and have a bit of fun. Unfortunately not every business can make their way down to the Prince Street and Market Square precinct; however they still go all out to put on the best show in town. Every Jacaranda Thursday for the last seven years, the staff at Grafton Community Health – Aruma, go all out and challenge the Grafton Base Hospital for the greatly coveted winner’s trophy – the bed pan. The 30 staff members at Aruma have worked tirelessly over the last three weeks to create the ultimate of tea parties, to win back last year’s trophy from the hospital. Choosing the theme of The Mad Hatters Tea Party, the staff all dressed for the occasion as the story book characters and enjoyed the most lavish of high teas. It was enough to give them the winning edge and the team at Aruma have now secured the winning bed pan trophy once again.
