The top four teams played in the semi-finals on 16 June. The Cats (team 3) defeated the Panthers (team 2) 5/3 (35/30) in a very close match and the Tigers (team 1) thrashed the Foxes (team 4) 7/1. Its a bit hard when the bottom team has to play a virtually unbeatable top team – maybe something the committee needs to look at for future comps. Wendy O’Brien won the raffle. The Tigers and Cats will play in the “feline” final on 23 June (team on duty Cats) so come and watch some great tennis and have a social hit. Our presentation lunch will be at the top pub (Maclean Hotel) on Thursday 30 June at 12 noon after social tennis. Order off the menu with meals starting at $7.50. Please put your name on the list if you are attending. Consider putting your name down for the next competition which starts 22 July or on our reserve list. We always welcome new players so anyone wishing to play please let us know before the comp starts. If you are unable to make a regular commitment but can fill in for the odd game, as long as you can play we don’t expect too much, its a great competition and you can play three times without becoming a member.
