One of the Lower Clarence’s most iconic hospitality businesses, the Angourie Resort and Spa has been listed for sale.

Owner operated by the Mitchell family, Angourie Resort and Spa is known for its proximity to the breathtaking beaches, lush gardens, and extensive facilities.

The resort features 66 existing generously sized guest rooms and villas, its popular day spa, restaurant, expansive swimming pool and bar, tennis court, gymnasium, and extensive meeting and conferencing facilities.

Current owner Linda Mitchell said the family had enjoyed owning and running the resort for more than 20 years.

“Angourie is an absolute gem, its natural beauty and coastal ambience, creates a unique experience for every visitor,” said in the listing.

“We have enjoyed the success of this asset for more than 20 years.”

JL Hotels and Hospitality Group who listed the resort for sale said the property presents a significant repositioning potential with interest from some of Australia’s leading hotel operators to brand the property.

“Further, with the success of wellness and high-end retreats in the Northern Rivers region, the property’s large rooms and infrastructure present a compelling case to target this lucrative market,” the listing says.

“Occupying a not-to-be-repeated 84,000sqm landholding on the edge of Yuraygir National Park, the property has the benefit of exceptionally high barriers to entry for any development in the surrounding area.”

The world renowned Angourie National Surfing Reserve is only minutes away from the resort.

“The resort is moments to world-class beaches and scenic hiking trails, provides complete seclusion surrounded by 600ha of lush subtropical rainforest with excellent access 2 hours south of the Gold Coast International Airport, 1 hour from Ballina Airport and 1.15 hours south of Byron Bay,” the listing says.

Exclusive Agent Andrew Langsford said the resort offers prospective buyers plenty of potential.

“An incoming purchaser could continue with the current successful operation, integrate within an existing portfolio, or pursue one of the many asset enhancement and growth opportunities,” the listing says.

“With the continuing success of regional destination resorts, the potential for this property is significant.”

The magnificent beauty and spectacular environment of the Lower Clarence is detailed in the listing, which gives glowing reviews of the local area.

“Yamba, Australia is a breathtakingly beautiful coastal town that offers a range of experiences for visitors,” the listing says.

“Its famous coastline, scenic cliffs, and lush greenery and excellent year-round climate are some of the many reasons why it is such a highly sought-after tourist destination.”

Angourie Resort and Spa is being offered for sale via expressions of interest closing Thursday March 2, 2023.
