‘An Afternoon at The Proms 2016’ Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus

cvindependent     Modelled on the famous ‘Last Night at the Proms’ held annually in the Royal Albert Hall UK, the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus with their artistic director and conductor Greg Butcher take you on a journey with the music from ‘Stage & Screen’ at the Saraton Theatre Grafton. As it is the 90th anniversary of the Saraton Theatre this year, movie and stage music will be performed as a fitting tribute to all the movies that have been featured in the theatre over 90 years. Also performed will be your old Prom’s favourites including Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance No.1 (Land of Hope & Glory) & Radetzky March. You will also get to wave your Aussie flag just like they do with the British flag in the Royal Albert Hall! As this year’s Proms has a movie theme, we also have a special treat for you with our compare Mr Nicholas Hammond. Nicholas is a well-known American actor and writer who is perhaps best known for his roles as Friedrich von Trapp in the film The Sound of Music, and as Peter Parker/Spider-Man on the CBS television series The Amazing Spider-Man.  Nicholas has also performed on Broadway and has appeared on many other TV shows including The Brady Bunch, Murder She Wrote, Hawaii Five-O, Magnum PI, Mission Impossible and Dallas to name just a few. ‘An Afternoon at The Proms’ has become one of the largest audience attractions during Grafton’s famous Jacaranda Festival and this year it will be held on Sunday, October 30 for ‘one show only’ commencing at 2pm, with seats available on both upper and lower levels. Tickets are now available online at www.saraton.com or by calling the Saraton Theatre Grafton on 6642 1633. With the success of the previous Proms series held at the Saraton, tickets are selling fast!
