A very wet week for Yamba lady golfers

Wednesday’s Single Stableford almost didn’t go ahead because the course had been partially closed the day before. Fortunately, the course opened because apart from soggy fairways and hordes of mozzies on the Back 9, it was a great day.

It was tough going for the 37 players but there were a couple of great rounds posted despite the conditions. The reduced numbers meant that there were only two divisions.

In Div 1, Janine Zietsch excelled, winning with her score of 40pts. Mary Hogan (36pts) was her closest rival and Jane Bonner (35pts) was placed third.

Noni Rixon (39pts) played impressive golf to win Div 2 ahead of Lynne M White (34pts) and Lynne Donsworth on 33pts.

NTP sponsors and winners: Sassafras 3rd – Janine Zietsch; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Jane Madden; SeaFire voucher 9th (2nd) voucher – Tana Lowe; Yamba Fair Butcher 10th – Tana Lowe; Leonie May Millinery 10th (2nd) – Joan Berry; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Kylie Lowe; Clovelly Fashions 17th – Lisa Marsh and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Jane Madden. Balls – 30pts c/b.

Friday Single Stableford

The rain persisted and early morning showers deterred many from playing in last Friday’s Single Stableford round. There were 30 players, and it was Lisa Marsh (35pts c/b) who won Div 1 beating Lynne Donsworth (35pts) and Leigh Robertson (34pts). Lynne has been playing consistent golf recently.

In Div 2, Joan Berry (34pts c/b) came in just ahead of Maiva Burnham (34pts) and Jo Scott (33pts).

NTP winners: Flots and Jets 3rd – Leigh Robertson; Clarence Valley Chiropractic 3rd (2nd) – Judy Palich; SeaFire Restaurant 9th (2nd) – Leigh Robertson; Kitchen to Table 10th – Leigh Robertson; Peter Campbell Physio 10th (2nd) – Shellee Clare; Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Kate Morris; Nicholson Fine Foods 17th – NA and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd) – Sandra Grissell. Balls – 30pts.

Soggy Saturday

Once again, the rain impacted the number of ladies participating in last Saturday’s Single Stableford. With only six players, Kylie Lowe (34pts) won and Lynne Eke took home the 12th hole SeaFire voucher.
