The Phyllis Austin Perpetual Memorial Trophy is an annual, open competition for all LCACA members in recognition of one of our founding members, Phyllis Austin. It is an encouragement award recognizing creativity, originality with a high standard of execution.

Grafton Regional Gallery Director, Niomi Sands judged the entries this year and commented on the quality of the quality of the exhibition.

“I would like to congratulate all of the artists that entered this year.  The standard of work is outstanding and showcases the creativity of our region.  This is an important award for the Clarence, and I am honoured to be invited to share in your creativity.”

First prize went to Pam Birrell for her finely detailed watercolour. Highly Commended went to Di Nixon for her vibrant silk and wool shawl, Alan Bishop for his fine timber collector’s box and Betty Thompson for her delightful artist’s book

The current exhibition has 16 diverse works to view, and most are for sale. We have extended trading hours until 7pm on Thursday December 10 and Friday 11; Thursday 17 and Friday 18 and Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24.

Lower Clarence Arts and Crafts Association Inc (LCACA) is a not for profit community organisation promoting and showcasing artisans of the Clarence Valley. LCACA opened Ferry Park Gallery in 1993 for members to display and sell their work. LCACA welcome new members to join us as an exhibitor or volunteer to work in our gallery. Ferry Park Gallery is on Big River Way, and easily accessed from the Maclean Interchange on the Pacific Motorway. Ferry Park Gallery has a COVID safety plan and is open 7 days from 9am – 4pm. Closed Christmas Day.
