And the celebrations and accolades for our State Pennant No 3 Flag winners continue with a glowing tribute to the team from both C.E.O. Phil Boughton and Club President Ian Lauder at the Friday night raffles – to the delight and applause of all present.  

Also, must make mention of the wonderful support of Manager Kaye Mason – a hugely important part of the team. How proud we are of this wonderful achievement and already these intrepid ladies have their sights set on another State Flag next year – and why not? With their bowling skill and dedication to practice and perfecting their game anything is possible. They are hungry – so look out Pennant 2023 – here they come!

 Mixed Tuesday November 29

All pairs today as we move towards the pointy end of 2022. The lucky recipients of the Bowlo Bucks were M. Stone and J. Beaumont who defeated L. McLean and G. Johnson. Runners-up were L. Duncan and M. Parker d K. Gunning, B. Ballantyne and H. Kellet and Mutley were appeased with the Consolation prize after their defeat by R. McPherson, C. Gunning.

Other games were P. Chilcott, M. Jenner d R. Moore, H. Atkinson and M. Abbott, I. Parker d J. Scadden, W. Ballantyne.

Good to see some of our victorious No 3 Pennant players back in the social bowls mix again after a giddy week of celebrating their triumphant return from the State Finals.

We were rained out last Thursday so a recap on the up and coming to end this report:

Shirley Drum Triples are now closed and will be played on December 13 and 15 followed by hamper draws and the drawing of the major raffle. It will be a casual buy-your-lunch get together before the draws. More items needed for the hampers and also bring in any outstanding raffle books a.s.a.p.

Names on the sheet (men’s board) for Ham Day – Mixed Bowls starting at 1pm on Saturday December 10.

And lastly to seal the deal there will be a mixed Christmas party in the Boardwalk Bar commencing at 12.30pm on Saturday December 17 – come along and celebrate the end of the year with some delicious food, sparkling company and maybe win a prize to add to your Christmas pantry. Wear your Christmas best if you’re game.
