Last Tuesday the Clarence River U3A group presented a cheque for $281 to the Yamba SES Unit Controller, Wayne Fraser, to help assist with ongoing expenses incurred by their volunteers. The money was raised from a Rock’n’Roll dinner/dance held by the CRU3A, on October 31, at the Yamba Bowling Club. The evening was enjoyed by all members who attended. After a scrumptious meal in the Bowling Club bistro the CRU3A members rocked the evening away in the auditorium to the toe tapping tunes of Frankie and the Grey J’s. The older rockers hadn’t forgotten those crazy moves and found extra energy to keep enjoying themselves on the dance floor, twisting again like they did many summers ago. The CRU3A wish to thank the Yamba Bowling Club for their great service and provision of venue and to Frankie and the Grey J’s for their time. Three prizes were awarded all vouchers to the Yamba Cinema, for the best male dancer Bob Ahern, the best dressed woman Laura O’Brien and Annie Hennessey won the lucky seat prize.
