Yamba Red Cross

Our first meeting for 2019 was well attended, including two of our past members returning after a short absence due to sickness – glad to see them back. Two new members have also joined us.

We discussed our fundraising activities for the year starting off with an Easter raffle which will be drawn during the Easter holidays. Our usual Soup and Bingo Days will be held during the months of May and September – dates to be advised at a later date. Our next blood donor days will be March 11-12 at the Yamba Bowling Club – please register with Lismore Blood Service as walk-ins may be turned away.

With an unprecedented number of emergencies affecting Australian communities a number of businesses have announced they will support our Red Cross disaster relief and recovery work. From February 6-20, Coles matched customers’ donations to Red Cross at their self-service and traditional checkouts. From February 6 until March 1, Commonwealth Bank customers can donate via the CommBank app and branches across Australia. The donations raised through these partnerships will go towards Red Cross disaster relief and recovery work.

Our next meeting will be held at the roundhouse Palm Lake Resort on March 2 commencing at 10am. We welcome new members.
