Osprey RSL Day Club

As you know, at the beginning of each month we like to acknowledge those people having birthdays throughout the month. In January of course we were still on holidays but Bev managed to get around to each person at home and drop off a card and gift as is our normal practice. There were seven birthdays for January Big Birthdays for Flo, Shirley and Chris, and happy birthdays for Maisie, Lola, Pauline and Nigel. Our February contenders were Leanne and Paul, Sheila on Valentine’s Day and a Big Birthday for Pete. We hope you all had memorable birthdays with friends and family.

Last week it was pleasing to see the return of Pat and Marj both of whom are long term members of Osprey. There is nothing like the company of old friends to put spring in your step. I believe Pauline has had surgery and we wish her well and hope to see her smiling face back with us as soon as she is ready.

Lola Harris, another long term member, will no longer be attending Osprey as she has now moved into Caroona and has well and truly settled into her new life there. Thank you Lola for your love, your friendship and the contribution you have made in welcoming others into our fold. You always made others feel so wanted and comfortable. Thank you.

Sadly I report the passing of Noel Alford. To Heather our sincerest condolences from your many friends at Osprey. Our arms are wrapped around you with the fondest love and the strongest support imaginable. Noel was such a darling. I shared many wonderful long chats with him about the good old days and his working life at the Grafton Brewery……he said he was the “Chief Beer Taster”! He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

On that note I will sign off, but not before reminding you all to chat to your friends and ask them to come along to Osprey. We have so much to offer in our four hours of fun. Anyone wishing to know more about our activities please contact Leanne Christie on 0413 101 518.
