Yamba monthly medallists

Wednesday’s cool early morning temperatures continued right through until midday for the 50 ladies who played in the monthly medal round.

Janelle Carpenter’s hot streak continued with her winning Div 1 (73). Margaret Solomon was a very thrilled r/up, also scoring 73. Val Pate won Div 1 putting and the overall best putting (29 putts) while Darrie Nightingale (84) was the gross winner.

In Div 2, Jenny Muir had a great day’s golf taking out winner and gross winner with scores of 72 and 97 respectively. Jo Simmons was r/up (73), and Carrie Aitken won the putting (30).

Judy Palich is playing consistent golf lately; she was Div 3 winner and gross winner with scores of 72 c/b and 107. Kathy Lollback was thrilled to win r/up (72), and Prue Leggoe won the putting with 31.

Monthly medallists were: A Grade – Janelle Carpenter; B Grade – Jenny Muir and C Grade – Judy Palich.

NTP’s went to: Yamba Medical Centre 3rd – Darrie Nightingale; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Julie Vernol; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) and Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Jenny Muir; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Jennifer Fagan; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – N/A; The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Jen O’Neill.

Balls were awarded to 78 c/b. In the nine-hole competition, Susan Boyce won in a field of 16 ladies. Sue Moten was the NTP winner on the 12th. Congratulations, ladies.

Friday’s single Stableford competition had a field of 52 ladies.

Div 1 winner was Margaret Solomon (34pts) just ahead of Daphne Hinshaw (33pts c/b).

Jill L Brown (37pts) won Div 2, beating Gail Scobie (35pts).

Fay Gimenez hit her straps to win Div 3 (46pts) to beat Jacky Penfold (34pts). The NTP winners: 3rd – Flots and Jets: Daphne Hinshaw; 3rd (2nd) – Valley Finance: Gail Scobie; 9th (2nd) – Peter Campbell Physio: Janine Zietsch; 10th – Kitchen to Table: Lee Daley; 12th – Amie Rose Beauty: Janelle Carpenter; 17th – Nicholson’s Fine Foods: Margaret Solomon and 17th (2nd) – Yamba Pharmacy: Lynne Eke. Balls went to 31 pts. Congratulations to our winners.

A chilly start this Saturday morning gave way to beautiful blue skies for the eleven ladies who played single Stableford. Kylie Lowe starred with an impressive score of 40pts ahead of Jane Bonner (32pts). Tana Lowe won the NTP.

This week’s rounds are both single Stableford. Ladies are again reminded that June 16 is the qualifying round for this year’s 2BBB Matchplay.
