Yamba ladies help cancer research

Last Wednesday’s Single Stableford round had 58 players and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund was the recipient of our fundraising efforts. Our ladies entered into the spirit of things by wearing white and teal and raised an impressive $578.50.
Results
With three grades, the Div 1 winner was Jane Bonner with a fantastic score 41pts; Jennifer Fagan followed with 37pts.

The Div 2 winner was Lynne Donsworth (39pts) and the r/up was Lyn Rowland (37pts).

Wednesday’s best score went to Captain, Penny Cope (42pts), who won Div 3; Irene Williams (37pts) also played well as r/up.

Our NTP sponsors and winners were Tech Lab 3rd – Di Sigle; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Jo Simmons; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Jane Bonner; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Margaret Fishburn; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Nadene Carroll; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Jenny Muir and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Judy Palich. Balls were awarded to 34 c/b.

Carol Miller won the Nine-Hole competition.

Friday’s Single Par 4/6 round had 58 players who participated in perfect playing conditions.

The ‘best on course’ was undoubtedly Lyn Bartley who scored +5 (41pts). Lyn received a round of applause as she entered the clubhouse as she has been in fine form over recent weeks. Val Pate has also been playing consistently.

Jeanne Jensen (+2 c/b) won Div 1 ahead of Val Pate (+2).

In Div 2, Jenifer Moody (+2) was the winner and Jean Whitby (+1 c/b) was r/up.

Lyn Bartley (+5) starred in Div 3 ahead of Lynne Eke (+2).

Our NTP winners were: Flots and Jets 3rd: Tina-Louise Downes; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd): Maiva Burnham; Peter Campbell Physio 9th (2nd): Tina-Louise Downes; Kitchen to Table 10th: Denise Ginn; Amie Rose Beauty 12th: Jo King; Nicholson’s Fine Foods 17th: Jeanne Jensen and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd): Carol MacPherson.

Balls were awarded to 0.

Tana Lowe featured with a fabulous round of 39pts in last Saturday’s competition ahead of Jane Bonner (35 pts). Gwynne Thomas won the NTP.

Next Wednesday’s round is the much-awaited President v Captain’s Round. Ladies are urged to check the draw to determine which colour they should wear. The two left-hand columns (Captain’ Team) wear pink and the right-hand columns (President’s Team) wear blue.
