Yamba Buccaneers take the win and welcome a special guest

Yamba Buccaneers came out firing in their home game against Mullumbimby at Buccaneer Park on Saturday. 

Yamba were leading 17 nil at halftime & went to score another 14 points late in the second half after a spirited fightback by the Moonshiners.

Tries were scored by Rowan Fahey, Joel Imeson, Adrian Miller, Brian Anderson and Christian Whittaker – conversions were kicked by Nathan Hollis, Brian Anderson and Jordan Walker.

Best & Fairest points were awarded Josh Renner (1 point), Nathan Hollis (2 points) Chris Williams (3 points) – Joel Imeson the dashing fullback was Players Player. 

All Black legend Mark (Cowboy) Shaw who played 70 tests having a beer with Joel Imeson & Christian Whittaker

Buccaneer Rugby had a special guest in the form of All Black legend Mark (Cowboy) Shaw who played 70 tests for NZ – 17 against the Wallabies – he was coaxed to the bar after the match where he told a few stories of his playing days – he rated Simon Poidevin the Wallaby flanker the hardest opposition he ever played against.

Next round is a bye, and the next home game will be played against Evans Head on Saturday June 3.
