What a performance!

Ed, Clarence Valley Conservatorium’s presentation on Thursday January 21 of “The Last Five Years” featured much-loved husband/wife team Mark Conaghan and Kate Joseph. This dynamic duo held the audience enthralled by their serious vocal expertise. The story of their relationship was told from each singer’s individual perspective. We witnessed their emotional roller-coaster, from passionate beginning to poignantly bitter end. With lyrics so true-to-life, and music so deeply moving, there were definitely quite a few sniffles in the audience. The band, too, was highly professional. Ably led by music director Adam Wills on piano, each member handled the intricate score with aplomb. Sarah Nicholls (violin), Ryan Enns (guitar), Caleb Murray & Samuel Powell (Celli) and Kris Edwards (bass) all performed with such sensitivity, creating the ideal musical platform to enable Kate and Mark to excel. What a truly ambitious undertaking. What an outstanding success. Thank you for an emotionally exhausting yet uplifting evening’s entertainment. Can’t wait for this talented troupe’s next production. We in the Clarence Valley are so incredibly lucky to have performers of this calibre in our midst. Helen Tucker, Grafton
