Harley Walters (Angourie) was too good for his rivals over the weekend, taking out the Under-16 NSW junior state title in dreamy three-foot surf at Sawtell Beach.
Walters (brother of 2019 Australian pro junior champion Dakoda Walters) carved up the right-handers, scoring a near-perfect 9.23 (out of 10) early in the final, which gave him the upper-hand.
Runner-up, Winter Vincent, who posted 14.33 for his two waves, was left searching for a 9.14 in his effort to overhaul Walters. Image: Josh Brown/Surfing NSW
