Tanks a Lot

cvi   It was neither St. Patrick nor the Easter Bunny that delivered a big, green liquid filled present to the Sandon Village Rural Fire Service community fire unit. Rather it was Clarence Valley Council’s Natural Resources Unit that funded a new 5000 litre poly water tank complete with storz fitting. The tank replaces a rather rusted and holey metal tank that leaked more than it stored. The new storz fitted tank allows the Sandon CFU to directly connect their equipment to the tank and will provide immediate connection for re-filling RFS and National Parks fire trucks. The Sandon CFU is comprised of nine trained firies and is made up of residents and holiday home owners. The unit is part of the Minnie Water RFS brigade and was established about four years ago in response to bushfires that threatened the village.
