We have had another busy week at South Grafton Public School last week.
We have had a large number of our very talented students attend a number of District, Mid North Coast, and North Coast sporting trials last week in a variety of state PSSA sports. Congratulations to Eli Whitney and Keidis Laurie-Daley who have been chosen in the Mid North Coast team and now progress to the North Coast Rugby League trials.
Congratulations to Charlie Rouse, Will Palmer, Tom Palmer, Meg Amos, and Nicola Longstaff who recently attended the Mid North Coast trials and have been selected in the North Coast Hockey teams to attend the state carnivals later this year.
Good luck to these students: Aidan Menzies, Beau Salmon, Blake Gavin, Cheyse Smith, Chloe Gavin, Darby Rouse, Emily Robertson, Emma Cameron, Emmie Lolic, Fischer Sanne, Gemma Nicholson, Jack Morrow, Joseph Menzies, Leah Jackson-Gapps, Meg Amos, Mia Van Doorn, Nash Wall, Nicola Longstaff, Ryan Moran, Tamika Van Doorn, Tashiah Woodley-Walker, Tom Palmer and Will Palmer who are attending the Mid North Coast Cross Country Carnival which is being held this Friday, May 7 at Nana Glen.
Our Year 4 students visited the Clarence Regional Library last Tuesday to meet the author and illustrator Leigh Hobbs. They participated in his visual literacy workshop, viewed his exhibition, and were able to ask him some questions. It was very exciting to meet such a famous author in person!
We held Mother’s Day stalls for our students to purchase a lovely gift for their mums or special person. Thank you to our P&C for organizing this initiative and our craft group for making the lovely items. Thank you also to our community members who left donations at the office.
Scholastic Bookclub Issue 3 catalogs were distributed to students last week. Online orders are due by Monday, May 10. Thank you for your support!
Our craft group has started back up this year. This is a small group of parents/carers who meet Wednesdays 9 am -11 am on our infant’s campus to prepare items for our stalls. Please contact Mrs. Kelly Vickers at school on 6642 3388 if you would like to join this group. All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the infant’s office.
