Brief commemorations were conducted at war memorials around the Clarence Valley last Wednesday, to mark Remembrance Day.
Maclean RSL sub-Branch President Steve Walton said that Remembrance Day this year like everything else, was affected by COVID.
“We still had a number of passers-by stop and pause to remember,” Steve said.
“RSL NSW recommended that people stay at home and watch it livestreamed from Martin Place in Sydney, but that’s only in recognition that our older veterans are vulnerable (members of our community) and we still need to take care.
“Never-the-less, it’s important to ‘Remember to Remember’ on the 11th of November,” he said.
