Rain will not impact this month’s Maclean Show

The public are advised that even though the Maclean Showground has been rain affected during the past couple of weeks, the 128th Show will go ahead on April 20-21.

Show features on the Tuesday include Poultry in the Charles Ryan Pavilion; Show Jumping and Equestrian events in the main ring; Sugar Cane judging; Fine Arts; Photography; Flowers; Fruit and Vegies and School Displays.

Wednesday will also include Old McDonalds Farm Animal Nursery (12 noon to 7pm); Harness Racing; Side Show Alley; Official Opening and Showgirl announcement at 6pm. During the afternoon Mr Tim Capp (President of Agriculture Society Council of NSW LTD), will open and name the new Main Pavilion.

This will be followed by the Farmers Challenge and a special feature of Kings Moto X Show (aerial tricks on motor bikes) followed by Fireworks and Demolition Derby.

We have eleven Showgirl entrants, with five seniors and six juniors. We were to have the Showgirl judging and dinner on Saturday night March 27 but had to postpone it until Saturday April 17 because of the flood.

Admission fees for the Show

Tuesday: Adult – $7; Child – $5; Concession – $5.

Wednesday: Adult – $15; Child – $8; Concession – $8.

Family ticket Wednesday only: $40.

Annual Membership: $30 includes 2 adults with 3 children (school age) and includes both days.

Membership is available at the show office at the Maclean Showground on April 6-7-8-9-12-16-17-19 from 10am to 2pm or business hours at Happy Creations Coffee Shop 2/18 River Street Maclean.

We encourage the public to take advantage of the membership as it is more cost effective and will also speed up at the entrance gate with Covid-19 restrictions in place.

If any of the public can give some time to volunteer on the two days it would be greatly appreciated to help with Covid-19 requirements. Phone Brian on 0487 101 151.
