Rachel’s ride for Men’s Mental Health

Last week Rachel Hill cantered into Grafton on her horse ‘Flash’ after leaving Sydney in late September on a charity horse ride to Brisbane to raise money for men’s mental health.

Rachel was inspired to ride her horse from Sydney to Brisbane after her partner took his own life in 2021.

This isn’t her first long-distance horse ride for charity, having ridden from Tamworth to Sydney in 2021 raising awareness for domestic violence.

Her journey so far hasn’t been without its challenges such as sourcing food for Flash, or places to rest, but she never thought she would be robbed of her swag and saddle at Taree and Nambucca Heads.

A generous Nambucca Heads local loaned her saddle to Rachel so she could continue her journey in the hope of reaching her $10,000 fundraising goal.

Rachel passed on a massive thank you to John and Erin for organising for her to stay with Tracey at Glenwood Tourist Park, putting her up with her horse, and her dog cricket. This allowed them to stay in a room and rest during Sunday night’s intense storm.
