Phil fires up at Bravehearts

Phil Meek (h/cap 16) triumphed at Maclean Bravehearts last Tuesday June 22, with a brilliant score of 21 well earned points, to snaffle the bottle of Hidden Gem red wine.

He patiently stacked up the points to cruise home two ahead of Trevor Wright (h/cap 22) who collected 19 and took home a jar of Connoisseurs Cumquat Marmalade donated by Dr John. In third equal place were Gary Taylor (h/cp 20) and Rod Dee (h/cp 19) both on 18 points, taking home the Caperberry Cafe $20 voucher and the $100 Munro Machines cart service. Rod D also managed to win the ‘least putts’ prize with a total of 13 and nearest the pin award (43cm) on the 2nd.

Meanwhile Gary T managed a 20 metre chip-in on the 2nd and was nearest the pin (1.5 m) on the 7th gaining his share of the prizes as well.

We welcomed a brace of new members (Linda Goodwin, Sue Noten, Denise Paten and Kim Pye) for their first match and they enjoyed themselves enough to play again next time.

The Braves concept of fun and not stressing was exactly what they needed for their progress into the big league in the future.

Many thanks to our sponsors, Caperberry Cafe, Yamba Cinemas, Italian on the Hill restaurant and Munro Machines.

So why don’t you come to Maclean Country Golf club next Tuesday, meet the crew and play nine holes of stress free golf. Please contact the Golf Pro Shop to confirm the start time, usually 9am.
